Alyah Itzel Martinez (she/her) is a recent graduate of Dartmouth College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Latin American, Latino, and Caribbean Studies. At Dartmouth, Alyah served as an ambassador for College Match LA and as an undergraduate advisor. Being a Los Angeles native, Alyah has always been passionate about social justice stemming from witnessing the barriers faced by Latino communities and the reliance with which they navigate them. While her interests center on immigrant rights, Latinx identity, and community empowerment, Alyah is especially passionate about expanding voter registration and civic participation among underrepresented populations. Being a first-generation college graduate, Alyah has understood the struggle of being a part of an underrepresented community and hopes to continue to advocate for those who are underrepresented.
