When I was younger, I was silenced for being transgender. Now that I’m 19 and have had the privilege of finding my voice, I have been engaging in public speaking and politics to help make the world safer for people like me. I study political science and expect to earn my master’s in international human rights law! I think queer people shouldn’t have to be a spokesperson if they don’t want to, but I love what I do and will continue talking to get people to understand we are people too. I have worked at several advocacy nonprofits, each dedicated to helping young people. I was born and raised in Asheville, but I want to connect our resources with those in rural areas that are often left behind in these situations.
